BellCow Fantasy ("BellCow", "we") provides a fantasy football web app and a companion browser extension ("Assistant GM") that tracks live mock/real drafts on ESPN, Sleeper, Yahoo, and CBS Sports and gives roster-aware recommendations. This page explains what data we collect, how it's used, and what we deliberately do not collect.
Data we collect
- Google account info, if you sign in. Name, email address, and profile picture URL, via Google Sign-In. Used only to identify your BellCow account and scope your data to it.
- Fantasy platform identifiers, only for leagues you connect. For ESPN: your account's SWID (a stable account identifier) and the league/team IDs you choose to connect — never your ESPN session credential (
espn_s2), which the extension deliberately never transmits or stores anywhere. For Sleeper: your public Sleeper username. For Yahoo: whatever your already-authenticated browser session on that site exposes to the extension while it's actively watching a draft room.
- Draft pick data. While the extension is open and a supported draft room is detected, it reads the picks shown on that page (player names, positions, draft order, which team made each pick) to power live recommendations and post-draft grading. This is read directly from the page you're already viewing — the extension does not browse anywhere on your behalf.
- League/roster settings you sync. Team names, lineup slot requirements, and your own roster, pulled from a platform's API using your already-authenticated session, so recommendations can account for real roster need.
Data we do not collect
- No advertising or third-party analytics/tracking scripts run in the extension or the web app.
- No browsing history outside the specific draft-room pages the extension is built to read.
- No ESPN session secret (
espn_s2) — SWID only, used solely to verify team ownership.
- We never sell or share your data with third parties for advertising or any other purpose.
How data is stored
- Account and league data lives in BellCow's own database on infrastructure we operate — not a third-party analytics or ad platform.
- The extension stores a long-lived BellCow account token locally in your browser (
chrome.storage.local) so it can authenticate to the BellCow API without re-sending your Google credentials on every request.
- Platform cookies (e.g. ESPN's session cookie) are read by the extension client-side, in your browser, to fetch data you already have access to — they are read at request time, not stored by BellCow.
Reference data (not about you)
BellCow separately pulls public fantasy-relevant data — player projections, ADP/ECR consensus, injury reports, Vegas odds, NFL play-by-play stats — from third-party providers (FantasyPros, nflverse, sportsbook odds APIs, etc.) to power rankings and recommendations. None of this involves sending your personal data to those providers; it's read-only reference data about players and games, not about you.
Google API Services User Data Policy
BellCow's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
- You can disconnect any connected league at any time from BellCow's Leagues & settings panel — this removes it from your account.
- You can request deletion of your BellCow account and all associated data at any time by contacting us (below).
- Uninstalling the Assistant GM extension removes the locally stored account token; it does not, on its own, delete your BellCow account data — contact us for that.
